On September 9, President Biden announced a national vaccine mandate that will apply to federal workers, companies with over 100 employees and government contractors. The rule for private companies is set to be issued by the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Fines for non-compliance could be up to $14,000 per violation, according to The Hill. The mandate will also apply to an additional 17 million healthcare workers at hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs, according to Reuters.
