Towson Student Accused Of Making Social Media Threat Against Campus

RadioOnFire.com – A Towson University student was arrested Wednesday after he was accused of making threats against the school via social media.

University police arrested Eric D. Barker at his home in the 300 block of Bridlewreath Way in Mount Airy, officials said in a message to the university community.

“TU is cooperating with the investigation and there is no threat to campus,” officials said. “This threat was brought to TUPD by concerned members of our community and investigators moved quickly to apprehend a suspect. He is not allowed to return to campus.”

Barker, 20, was freed Thursday on $30,000 bond, according to online court records. His trial is scheduled for Dec. 30. at Baltimore County District Court in Towson.

If convicted, the charge carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
