R. Kelly’s Crisis Manager Steps Down for “Personal Reasons”

After his most recent appearance on CBS This Morning, R. Kelly’s crisis manager Darrell Johnson has stepped down from his role on Kelly’s team. In a statement issued following the interview, Johnson said in part, “I step down as crisis manager for personal reasons,” adding  “Mr. Kelly is in good hands with Mr. [Steve] Greenberg [Kelly’s criminal defense attorney].”

R. Kelly’s crisis manager, Darrell Johnson recently sat down for an interview on CBS This Morning when he unequivocally stated that he wouldn’t leave his 20-year-old daughter around the R&B singer. “I wouldn’t leave my daughter with anybody that’s accused of being a pedophile,” Johnson said to Gayle King. His answer raised more than a few eyebrows considering that he is working for R. Kelly but Johnson said he doesn’t see a contradiction in his stance. Johnson stated that he wouldn’t leave his daughter around anyone, not just Kelly, who was accused of pedophilia.
