In February 2021, Nicki Minaj’s father tragically lost his life after a hit-and-run incident took place in Long Island, New York. 64-year-old Robert Maraj was walking down the street when he was hit by a man named Charles Polevich, who fled the scene after he struck Maraj. Polevich reportedly hid his Volvo he hit Maraj with in order to conceal evidence of the incident from police.
Since then, Polevich has been arrested and is being held on a $250,000 bond. Now, reports surfaced noting that Nicki’s mother—Carol Maroj filed a $150 million wrong death lawsuit related to her husband.
The lawsuit was filed by attorney Ben Crump, and Crump alleged that Polevich “was more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help” after hitting Maraj. Polevich’s attorney has responded to TMZ and told them “My client empathizes with the family. The question of whether there was negligence and degrees of negligence will be determined by the court. The $150 million amount seems to be over the top.” As of now, Polevich has been charged with two felonies for the incident. Stay tuned for more updates.
