Instagram to Warn Users Before Posting Offensive Content

RadioOnFire.com – Instagram noted they will now warn users if it looks like they are about to post “potentially offensive” captions.

Reports noted that if Instagram’s AI tools detect a caption that could possibly be harmful, it will alert the user via a notification. The caption reportedly will say “looks similar to others that have been reported.” The alert is supposed encourage the user to edit the caption, but still gives them the option to post if they still want to.

The company reportedly implemented the new feature to combat online bullying, and noted that the results have been “promising” so far. This comes after they rolled out the option to “restrict” users via a new feature meant to shadow ban users.
