RadioOnFire.com – Kimberly Klacik’s videos and appearances on Fox News provided ammunition for President Donald Trump to criticize Rep. Elijah Cummings.
Klacik, a member of the Baltimore County Republican Central Committee, may mount a campaign to succeed the late Cummings in the upcoming special election.
Her July videos showing trash in West Baltimore were the impetus for a volley of tweets by the presidentcalling Cummings’ district a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”
Klacik tweeted Friday that she will make a “special announcement” at noon Saturday on Fox News.
As of Friday afternoon, there are three Republicans and seven Democrats who have filed with the Maryland State Board of Elections to run in the special primary election on Feb. 4.
Two Democrats who have announced, former congressman and NAACP President Kweisi Mfume and Baltimore City Del. Talmadge Branch, have not filed their paperwork yet.
Baltimore City state Sen. Jill Carter has formed an exploratory committee, and Cummings’ widow, Maryland Democratic Party Chair Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, is considering a run. The filing deadline is Nov. 20.
