RadioOnFire.com - Maryland State Police said a man who led a pursuit from Ocean City through Delaware to Cecil County has been arrested after a daylong search. Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley told WBAL-TV 11 News that the Maryland Apprehension Team and U.S. Marshals arrested William Galvin Jr. after 5:30 p.m. at a trailer in Front Royal, Virginia. Police said the pursuit began around 2 a.m. Friday in Ocean City involving a reported stolen pickup truck that led officers into Delaware. "The pursuit then picked up by Sheriff's Office in Worcester County, who pursued it to the state line and then Delaware law enforcement picked up pursuit into the state of Delaware," Shipley said.
The pursuit continued back into Maryland, in Cecil County, on Maryland Route 222. As the chase entered Perryville, Galvin drove down the tiny Aiken Avenue Extension to a dirt road along CSX train tracks, police said. Officers pursued him down the tracks, where he eventually stopped and began to drive in the direction of the Perryville officers, who were on foot, police said. One officer opened fire on the truck. It is unknown if Galvin was struck.
