- A 21-year-old named Deandre Somerville was sentenced to 10 days in jail by a judge after he reportedly overslept and missed jury duty.

Somerville was reportedly chosen as a juror in August for a civil trial and was ordered to return the day after being chosen.

However, he noted that he woke up and realized he overslept, which led him to look up punishments he could possibly face online.

When speaking to the news, Deandre Somerville said “I should have called, but I was kind of nervous. I also went online to look up what could really happen, and I didn't really see too much there. ... [It looked like] nobody actually ever really went to jail for it."
