RadioOnFire.com – A Texas-based medical company has announced it will make the first at-home test kit for COVID-19 available on March 23. Everlywell produces a series of at-home tests for a variety of diseases and viruses. Time reports the company has “validated tests for everything from cholesterol levels to fertility and infectious diseases like STDs.”

People will be able to order the test directly from Everlywell after answering a few questions about their health, symptoms, and risk factors associated with COVID-19. A doctor through the PNW Health, a national physician network will review the answers and determine if the person has symptoms consistent with the coronavirus and will prescribe the at-home diagnostic.

Everlywell wrote on Twitter that the “[i]nitial supply will be 30,000 #coronavirus tests. We plan to ramp quickly and scale to meet the countries’ ever-growing needs as quickly as we can. We are uniquely positioned to step up and help in this crisis. We’re in this fight together.”
