RadioOnFire.com - School children were seen exiting a school bus from SkyTeam-11 following a crash between the bus and another vehicle in Bel Air.
Maryland State Police said the crash happened at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on southbound Rock Spring Road at Moores Mill Road. A preliminary investigation shows the bus was attempting a left turn onto Moores Mill Road, which was partially closed due to construction, and crashed head-on into the passenger vehicle, police said.
MSP said four children and an adult aide were on the bus at the time of the crash, none of whom were injured. The children could be seen exiting the bus from SkyTeam-11 and were transferred to an alternate bus to take them to school, police said.
The driver of the bus, identified as Henry Woods, 73, of Bel Air, was taken to University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center by ambulance, MSP said. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
MSP said the driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as Dorothy Hagen, 76, of Bel Air, was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Harford County fire officials said the injuries were non-life-threatening.
Woods is being cited for failure to yield to an oncoming vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
