Cardi B, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, & Migos Take Top Honors at 2019 BET Awards

RadioOnFire.com – The stars were all out at the 2019 BET Awards, as in addition to dynamic performances from Migos, Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus, DJ Khaled & Meek Mill, DaBaby, Mary J Blige for her Lifetime Achievement Award, and Cardi B & Offset in what was pegged as their first-ever televised performance together, there were also plenty of moving tributes and awards for this year’s honorees.

The one and only Beyoncé took home the Best Female R&B / Pop Artist as Bruno Mars took home the same award for the men, while the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist was given to the late Nipsey Hussle, who was posthumously honored with the Humanitarian Award which was accepted by his family on his behalf.

Meanwhile, Cardi B was the most nominated artist of the night and after opening the show she took home the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Album of the Year, as Migos was honored as the Best Group of the year and Travis Scott and Drake won Best Collaboration for “Sicko Mode.” Otherwise. Lil Baby won Best New Artist, Childish Gambino won Video of the Year, Regina King took home Best Actress as Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor, while Steph Curry and Serena Williams were honored as the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the year.

Additionally, the Exonerated Central Park Five were honored at this year’s ceremony that was hosted by actress and comedian Regina Hall, while Tyler Perry won the Ultimate Icon Award as Spike Lee took home Best Film with “BlacKkKlansman.”
