RadioOnFire.com - A Baltimore City Police officer is in Shock Trauma after being struck by an SUV in west Baltimore.
Capt. Roy Taylor with SkyTeam 11 says a police officer was involved in a foot pursuit of another individual when he was struck by a black SUV. The vehicle did not remain on the scene.
Just before 1:00 p.m. police were called to the 300 block of South Monroe Street for reports of an officer struck by a vehicle.
Fellow officers arrived on scene to find the officer conscious. They did not wait for an ambulance and transported the injured officer to Shock Trauma via police cruiser.
Police said he suffered minor injuries to his left arm and left leg.
A search is underway for a black SUV, unknown make and model, with obvious front-end damage that was last seen on the 300 block of South Monroe Street.
WBAL-TV's David Collins reports that multiple street and store surveillance cameras may have captured the vehicle fleeing the scene.
