RadioOnFire.com - The administration building and cash lanes at the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel toll plaza were reopened Friday morning.
The facilities closed Tuesday after two workers were diagnosed with legionellosis. City and state health officials reviewed the premises and took samples. Test results from those samples are pending. Maryland Transportation Authority officials said they proactively had water systems treated.
The tunnel remained open despite the toll plaza's closure. Drivers without E-ZPass transponders who passed through the toll plaza while it was closed will be billed at the cash rates. However, drivers who wish to pay in cash must now return to using manned toll booths, or they will be billed at 1.5 times the cash rate.
