A woman was shot in the head after a verbal argument turned physical, Baltimore police said.
Around 2 a.m. Friday, police were called to Commerce Street for a report of a shooting. Arriving officers found a 22-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. She is expected to survive.
An initial investigation shows the victim go into a verbal argument with another woman inside of a club on Commerce Street. The woman took the argument outside where the argument turned physical. A short time later, a car arrived at the location and the occupant of the car began firing at the woman.
Officers were in the area at the time of the shooting and were able to respond quickly, police said. The officers attempted to stop the driver of the car, but it did not stop and drove away. The car was later found by police and a gun was recovered from inside.
Police have a person of interest who is not yet a suspect.
